Dream Big!

Have you ever wished or dreamed for something that was really crazy....something that there was no earthly way it would ever come to pass? I know I have. We’ve all had those “pizza” dreams, but I’m talking about God dreams. Dreams that are so big there was just no way they could ever happen unless God came through. Sometimes those kind of dreams can be scary. Scary because they require faith and trust in God on our part.

In Genesis 15 Abram was talking to God about his unfulfilled dream, a baby. When God answered his prayer I’m sure it’s not exactly how Abram was thinking it was all gunna go down. Before God could give Abram what he was praying for God first had to dare Abraham to dream big!

God got Abraham out of his comfy tent and told him to look up and count the stars. Have you ever tried to count the stars? I’m imagining Abraham counting the stars….1, 2, 5432, 5435….wait, that’s wrong. 1, 2……. Counting the stars is darn near impossible! God had a reason for Abraham counting the stars. He wanted him to ‘look beyond.’ He wanted to remove the limitations from his thinking.

When we look beyond and focus on God it removes our limitations and stretches our faith. We serve a big God. He wants you to get out of your tent and look out and see all the goodness He has for you.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or think.” He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think…..or even DREAM!

I had a friend tell me once that my dreams should be "scary and way bigger than what I can accomplish by my beauty and talent." Boy, she was sure right. God has so much more for us than we could ever imagine. It's time to look beyond your limitations and your circumstances. Look to what God can do for you. What is it that God want you to start dreaming about?
